Cross Country

Good day,

The fall sports season is fast approaching.  As a middle schooler, your student is eligible to run cross country this year.  Cross country is a wonderful opportunity to experience a school sport that helps you improve as an individual.  As your improvement increases, the overall team benefits as well.

Most middle school meets or invitationals are 2 miles in length.  The goal is to run the 2 miles nonstop and improve your time in doing so as the season progresses.  There will be a total of 6 invitationals and 4 conference meets this year.  The complete schedule can be found on the school’s website or click here.  Practices will be held on non-meet or non-invitational days after school from 2:50-4:15.

If this is something that your middle schooler may be interested in, please fill out this survey.  In this, I ask for emails of both you and your student so I can communicate more directly with the people who are truly interested.  There will also be a sign up the first days of school.

Please also note that a current sports physical MUST be on file with the school BEFORE you join us for any running!!

With that being said, we are holding some “meet and runs” to prepare for our season.  These are NOT mandatory, but just simply a chance to meet some of your teammates as well as get a chance to begin running before the season begins officially.  The first official practice begins on August 24th.

Dates for the Meet & Runs are:

Aug 8, 2022 from 8-9 AM with Coach Mandrelle & Coach Bradley

Aug 10, 2022 from 8-9 AM with Coach Mandrelle

Aug 11, 2022 from 6-7 PM with Coach Bradley

Aug 15, 2022 from 8-9 AM with Coach Mandrelle

All meet & runs will take place at Jonesville High School.

Thank you for your time,

Rachel Mandrelle & Jessica Bradley
