Weekly Update For 06/06/22

Dear JMS Parents,

Here are the important dates and information for the week:

  • WELCOME TO THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!  Thank you for an amazing year with your children.  The last day of school is Tuesday, June 7th, and it is a ½ day with dismissal at 11:15.

  • Parents, please fill out the following survey about JMS so that we can make any improvements necessary to provide the best educational experience for your child(ren) and family.  These are building specific, so if you have children in multiple schools, we will be asking you to fill out a form for each school.

  • Our end of the year awards assembly will be on Monday, June 6th from 8am until 10am.  Parents are welcome to attend.  Our Brad Boyle Award winner will be announced at 10am, immediately following the awards assembly.

  • Chromebooks will be collected on Monday.  Parents, please make sure your child charges their Chromebook tonight and brings their charger and Chromebook with them to school tomorrow.  Both the Chromebook and charger will need to be returned to the school to avoid any fines.  

  • Please look through your house for any textbooks, library books, or any school items that need to be returned to avoid receiving a fine from the school.

  • We are trying to keep the softball and baseball fields free from any damage during construction. Please talk with your child and remind them to stay off of the fields after school hours.   There is an area behind the bleachers, or the park at Wright St. where the students can play.

  • After school tutoring and athletic study hall will be available every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:50-3:50.  Any student wishing to attend may show up as long as they bring work.  Athletes will know in advance if they must attend.  *Students cannot remain in the school past 4pm, and should have transportation available after tutoring.

  • If your child is absent from school due to an illness or appointment, please call the office in the morning and let us know 517-849-3210.

  • Students who are quarantined are required to complete all classwork while they are away from school.  Your teacher should have Google Classroom or Schoology set up to deliver all assignments and instruction.  Failure to complete assignments on time will result in a lowered grade.  If you are sick, please let your teacher know so an exception can be.
