Weekly Update For 02/07/22

Dear JMS Parents,

Here are the important dates and information for the week:

  • We are going to have a Valentine's Day Dance on Saturday, February 12th,  from 7:00 - 9:30pm.

Entry is $5, pizza is $2, pop or water are $1, and photos are $1.

It is semi formal, that means following the school dress code for dress clothes, or your best jeans and shirt both work. No high heels or hard soles, all shoes need to have soft soles to protect the gym floor.

  • Spirit week dress up days for this week

Monday - Meme Monday - Dress up as an internet trend.

Tuesday - Twin Day - Twin with a friend.

Wednesday - Jersey Day - Support your favorite team.

Thursday - Age day - Dress up as a different age, maybe an 80 year old or an 8 year old.

Friday - Orange and Black - Show off your Comet pride!

  • Just a reminder that Thursday, February 17th, is a ½ day for the students.  Mid-winter break starts at that time.  Students will have Friday the 18th and Monday the 21st off from school.

      • Monday, Feb. 7th, Away at Springport @ 6:00PM

      • Friday, Feb. 11th, Away at Springport @ 4:00PM

  • After school tutoring and athletic study hall will be available every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:50-3:50.  Any student wishing to attend may show up as long as they bring work.  Athletes will know in advance if they must attend.  *Students cannot remain in the school past 4pm, and should have transportation available after tutoring.

  • If your child is absent from school due to an illness or appointment, please call the office in the morning and let us know 517-849-3210.

  • Students who are quarantined are required to complete all classwork while they are away from school.  Your teacher should have Google Classroom or Schoology set up to deliver all assignments and instruction.  Failure to complete assignments on time will result in a lowered grade.  If you are sick, please let your teacher know so an exception can be.

  • During sporting events, please talk with your child and remind them to stay off of the baseball and softball fields.  This is especially problematic during football games.  There is an area behind the bleachers where the students can play.  We are trying to keep the softball fields from any damage during construction.

  • Masks are optional in school, however, if you ride the bus, they are required the entire time you are on the bus.
