JCS would like to thank Jonesville Lumber for their incredible support of our Industrial Arts program. This year, we added classes for each grade level in the middle school in addition to the two hours of classes at the high school. This meant we were in dire need of supplies and JL stepped in and delivered, literally. It started in September with shipments of 1x4 and 1x6 lumber for birdhouse projects in the middle school and various types of lumber for the high school. We then decided to try something different during the 2nd trimester at the middle school by adding lessons on the electrical trade. JL came through again with lumber and electrical supplies. The pics are the culmination of carpentry and electrical projects our students have done as a result of JL’s generosity. Thank you!!! These mini-walls are currently being combined into small garden sheds. More information and pics of those coming soon!

Mrs. Welden's AP US History class participated in a Progressive Era Recruitment Fair today. Students became historical reformers and created fair booths to present information and recruit supporters for their particular area. The class then voted by secret ballot to determine the most accurate and effective booth. Votes are currently being tallied and the winner will be announced in class tomorrow.

Comet families! The JCS school board voted to move the high school to semesters beginning the 2023/24 school year. We will be looking at, potentially, making the switch from trimesters to semesters for the middle and elementary schools as well.

Good evening Comets! Due to the conditions of our backroad routes, JCS will have to close for tomorrow Thursday, January 26th. I know the main roads are good to go but we have many students who live out of town or drive themselves. We would be unable to get these students and would be at risk of not hitting our 75% attendance required by the state.I have confidence that we will be ready to go by Friday. Have a good night!

Good evening Comet families! In anticipation of the incoming inclement weather, JCS will be closed tomorrow Wednesday, January 25th. My hope is that this earlier announcement will provide parents with some extra time to make arrangements if necessary. Have a good evening

The Williams Elementary Comet Cruisers running program is looking for individuals, organizations, and businesses to sponsor students to complete a couch to 5K program this spring. We will begin in mid March and run the 5K during Riverfest weekend. It is $80 to sponsor a runner to receive certificate, t-shirt, and a brand new pair of running shoes. If you sponsor 3 or more students, your company name will be on the back of our shirts! Please see the attached donation form or contact Rachel Mandrelle at rmandrelle@jonesvilleschools.org.

Texting or talking on the phone without a hands-free device while driving is always a bad idea. Keep your focus on the road, not your phone. #FarmersSafe

In honor of school board appreciation month, Jonesville Community Schools would like to thank our school board members for all they do for our staff and students. The position requires a lot of work behind the scenes and some long nights. Thank you for all you do! We look forward to what the future has in store!

Be sure to show that school spirit!

Please assist us in wishing Mrs. Salsbury all the best as she embarks on her next adventure!
Mrs. Salsbury has dedicated 34 years of her life to educating youth; specifically, ten of her 34 years were spent at JHS. She will be greatly missed by both students and staff but we will continue to be grateful for the impact she has had on students during her tenure at Jonesville Community Schools.
Congratulations, Mrs. Salsbury!
