Jennifer Nielsen was in Jonesville High School Wednesday, the bestselling author spoke passionately to JHS on how research makes history come alive through the personal events revealed when writing. She also inspired Creative Writing and English classes. Leading them through the creative process, she asked questions, showing how the answers to those questions frame the story and make up the various elements of it.
M8KN IT MNE prepared students for the visit by holding "The Nielsen Awards", a program designed to encourage the students to get familiar with Mrs. Nielsen and her books. Students read and completed puzzles for chances to win signed books, lunch in the loft with the author and other prizes.
Students now have the opportunity to engage in book clubs featuring six of Jennifer Nielsen's twenty-plus titles. Sign up is in the library!
Mrs. Nielsen's visit was sponsored by M8KN IT MNE, the Hillsdale County Community Foundation and the Jonesville Community Educational Foundation
